On Sunday, November 4, enjoy a very special event – Fragrance of the Moon Night V! This fundraiser returns to Flushing Town Hall with special guests from the Danny DeGennaro Foundation in Pennsylvania.
Enjoy a night of hard cock n’ roll, jazz, and pop music and celebrate the season of gratitude and appreciation with our hosts Dr. Hsing-Lih Chou and Ms. Joann Hsieh. (Ages 21 and up invited!).
Tickets – $30 for balcony, $70 for orchestra – are available here. The VIP cocktail party starts at 6:00 p.m., and the concert at 7:00 p.m. ($100 is for a seat in a box; each box has 6 seats.)
The Danny DeGennaro Foundation has made a name for itself throughout the greater Philadelphia area for finding and mentoring young artists and musicians. Now the nonprofit organization is taking its show on the road – with its talent in tow – at Flushing Town Hall.
The Danny DeGennaro Foundation, which started in 2014 and is named for the late Kingfish musician, Danny DeGennaro, has a dual role in the concert. First, some of the foundation’s artists and student artists are creating a stunning 10-foot by 30-foot-wide backdrop for the concert. Foundation mentors and artists have set the stage with other one-of-a-kind backdrops, including eye-catching images of the Philadelphia skyline.
In addition to setting the aesthetics of the stage, the foundation’s young talented musicians, including singer Cara Cartney, accompanied by saxophone player and Danny DeGennaro Foundation mentor Mike Reinig will perform. Joining them onstage is 2017 Danny DeGennaro Foundation music scholarship award winner Katelyn Cryan. The foundation has been mentoring Cartney and helping in the recording of an EP. Mentors continue supporting Cryan’s live performances at her alma mater, Bucks County Community College, as well as other venues in the Philadelphia area.
The foundation is also mentoring Hot Curtis, a band of young musicians that the Danny DeGennaro Foundation is assisting in the studio and through live performances, including the Nov. 4 concert.
Rock band Steal Your Face will headline the event. All Lit Up will open the show. In addition to foundation musicians and artists, the benefit for Flushing community activities will be hosted by Dr Hsing- Lih Chou and Joann Hsieh. The show offers something for everyone, including hard rock, jazz and pop music.
