gncf-save-the-date-tix Save the date for the premiere cheese and dairy event of the season as The Great Northeast Cheese & Dairy Fest returns to Queens for the second year in a row. Top toques and top tommes will once more turn historic Flushing Town Hall into a cheese lover’s paradise.

A half dozen top chefs will create exquisite cheese-highlighted dishes at 2016’s premier cheese event, The Great Northeast Cheese & Dairy Fest on Saturday, December 10th at historic Flushing Town Hall from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

More than 30 artisanal creameries, including Vulto Creamery, Crown Finish Caves and Bovina Valley Farm Creamery will have guests sampling the region’s finest cheeses from nutty sheep’s milk tommes and Cheddars to luscious triple cremes and tangyraclette goat cheeses.

“The Great Northeast Cheese & Dairy Festival is a wonderful opportunity for people to connect with the producers, farmers and cheesemakers behind the delicious products they love; to learn and explore new regional cheese and dairy traditions, and reconnect with old favorites,” states Nicole E. Day Gray, Vice President of New York Epicurean Events and Chief Executive Officer of the Cheese & Dairy Society of New York State.

Guests will have an opportunity to savor cheeses and learn about them from their makers. Pairings will include top-rated wines, craft beers, farmstead ciders, and cocktails created especially for the cheeses. Guests will also have the opportunity to purchase cheeses from the creameries directly at the event and take them home.

NYEE and CDSNY are honored to feature Queens-based cheese expert Tia Keenan, author of the newly published book “The Art of The Cheese Plate: Pairings, Recipes, Style, Attitude,” as part of the evening’s program.

A $60 general admission ticket entitles guests to unlimited tasting and sampling of all food and craft beverages. Additionally, there will be $100 VIP tickets sold, which will allow access to a special hour from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. enabling guests to enjoy exclusive culinary demonstrations and learn about cheeses from renowned cheese experts, including the mongers of Brooklyn’s acclaimed Crown Finish Caves. VIP guests will also have early access to the rest of festival.

“Everybody from bona fide curd nerds to cheese enthusiasts will find something to savor and enjoy,” said Joe DiStefano, communications director of New York Epicurean Events.
