Amy Mak Chan, and JHS 189 Music Teacher Rev. Daryl G. Ware. New York 1 Anchor and Reporter Rocco Vertuccio will emcee the event.

Queens Borough President Melinda Katz and York City Council Majority Leader Jimmy Van Bramer will deliver remarks. The event will feature performances by students at JHS 189, who this May presented a production of Aladdin – directed by Rev. Ware – at Flushing Town Hall. New York 1 Anchor and Reporter Rocco Vertuccio is this year’s emcee. Mr. Vertuccio has served as an Anchor of “Your Queens News Now” since 2009.

The annual gala – which supports educational workshops and other programming at Flushing Town Hall – begins at 6 PM with cocktails followed by dinner at 7:30 PM at 137-35 Northern Boulevard, Flushing. Tickets are available here.

Abiding to its mission to provide “global arts for a global community,” Flushing Town Hall, a Smithsonian Affiliate and a member of New York City’s 33-member Cultural Institutions Group, brings to Queens local, national, and international performances and exhibitions that are often seen in Manhattan or Brooklyn, or Europe or Asia.

“Our annual gala provides an opportunity to showcase our diversity, arts, and community in an evening of awards and entertainment,” said Ellen Kodadek, Executive and Artistic Director at Flushing Town Hall.

Over the next week, we’ll be telling you a bit more about our gala honorees – so stay tuned!
