From Canada to China – and everyplace in between – Flushing Town Hall will bring the music of the world to the stage this March with a diverse mix of performances, events, workshops, and more.
“Our mission is to provide global arts to our global community in Queens, and March is emblematic of the diverse range of opportunities we routinely offer to discover something new, something original, and something amazing,” said Ellen Kodadek, Executive and Artistic Director of Flushing Town Hall.
Artists performing in March represent a diverse range of countries, from China to India to Canada. Musical offerings include: traditional Quebecois music with a contemporary twist from De Temps Antan; internationally renowned choreographer Nai-Ni Chen presenting her latest collaborative program, CrossCurrent III; Falu’s Bollywood Orchestra, an ensemble led by one of India’s most popular vocalists; a workshop that explores 700-year-old ecstatic Qawwali; and, Latin funk-infused salsa from Aurora & Zon del Barrio.
Other March highlights include our monthly Jazz Jam, the Queens College Chamber Orchestra performing a classical and contemporary repertoire, and, an evening of stand-up comedy from LAFF Lab Comedy Club.
