Our annual Visual Arts Members’ Show, which explores the theme of identity and asks “Who am I?” and “What do you see?”, is going strong. Today, we’d like to introduce you to one of our 35 participating member artists, Nora Gamer.
Nora, who was born in Manhattan, grew up in Corona and has lived in Flushing for many years. She is retired from her job as a librarian in the New York City public school system.
A watercolorist for many years, she has submitted a piece she created from a live model in Marc Jasloff’s class at the National Art League from a live model.
“The idea was to use pattern, in this case the model’s beautiful silk robe,” Nora says.
She adds, “I am so happy to be a member of Flushing Town Hall and so glad that it has become a viable community institution. I am grateful for the work you and all the dedicated staff do to make it a wonderful place for the arts to flourish.”
